Sweet William Pfeil (1999 to June 7, 2013)

Sweet William was born to a stray cat in San Antonio, Texas and was one of a litter of 6: 5 ginger tabby boys and one gray tabby girl. From the day that he came home he followed Patty around like a shadow and was a very vocal body, keeping up a running one sided conversation wherever he was, at home, at the vet’s, in the car or following Patty and Olive on a walk. He did not get table scraps as a rule but he was an unabashed begger. His interest in food was paramount. Whenever he was called he appeared in seconds ready to join in whatever the festivity, especially if it involved food. If truth be told he was a mama’s boy, sleeping next to Patty every night and usually not content until the covers were laid tenderly over his back, snuggling in for his rest only so long as Patty was still…as soon as she was aroused for whatever reason he was up and accompanied her wherever she was off to in the middle of the night, to let Olive outside or go to the bathroom, William was there with a perfunctory “meow” as they waited for Olive to return from her chore or as he waited for Olive’s crunchies to be doled out as a midnight snack…always to return to the right side of his Patty and meow until the covers were tenderly laid over his back so he could again snuggle down to sleep for another bit. He is snuggled down now with the covers laid tenderly over his back and he will watch us as Olive and I go about our nightly chores still listening for that perfunctory “meow”.  Sweet Wiliiam was a dear sweet boy. He was shot to death on Friday, June 7, 2013. RIP

  6. I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s a tragedy that’s almost unbelievable in the UK (although I do know of people whose pets have had air rifle injuries). He was clearly very loved and lived a wonderful life. I’m cuddling my own ginger friend and thinking of you x

William was one of your family. One who have love, comfort, joy to you and the rest of your “family”. Losing him is like someone losing their child. I hope the police find who did this and hope others come to realize these acts will not can not be tolerated. William is now a sweet angel looking out for you, olive, ruby, pearl, and all other sweet living creatures you have or bring in. Remember him with love and happiness – whoever did this does not deserve to diminish YOUR bright light. Love you – Angie

Hello! So sad. Found him on the back porch and took him to the vet’s to find out how it happened. They xrayed him and examined him and said it was a bullet that killed him. He was such a special boy.

That is exactly how we found Simba,he was always in at night, couldn’t find him and then found him under our car already gone.We took him to our vet and asked for an xray..same thing…don’t even know how he got home like that. The police also looked into it..but I had my suspicions, probably the same place that had rabbit traps and one year he came home with his legs ripped to bone,he had been caught in one and someone had then let him out..never ever acceptable.

Thankyou also,it is a horrid way for a precious friend to end their life.We waited 12 months and the anger got no better so we sold our house and moved 3 hours away to 11 acres of property away from harm for our pets, before we moved in I saw our lovely Simba in a dream around the new property,i have never had a dream with our animals in it and I knew he was already at our new place waiting for us. I am sure he is happy and safe.We named our property Samovila after a Russian fairy in myth who was the protectress of the woodland creatures and all animals. Sending love your way xxxx

Thank you for this part of your story. I have already thought about moving. The fear for my other animals is growing! I love that Simba came to you in a dream at your new place! That made me cry to know that she was there and with the name you gave it, she will be protecting you all..xoxo

Thankyou Simba (he was a boy hehe) was the main reason we left..i drove that street all the time sending the worst thoughts out,we lost two pet sheep to dog attacks also so the whole area was for us tainted. Before we left I would lock the dogs in the laundry,i was terrified of what would happen..we couldn’t live like that anymore, and after a year we figured it was no longer a spur of the moment decision,it was a necessity. My dream was amazing,he had his full tail (the end was bitten off by a dog years and years before) and he was already rabbiting for sure.I believe you will do what you need to and keep your pets safe and I hope you get some peace.xxxx

your dream is amazing…a few nights ago as i was falling asleep, one of my other kitties who is only a year old and very light came and walked on the back of my legs and up my back. I could have sworn it was William because it felt like his weight on me and the way the cat walked on me was exactly the way William used to walk on me when he was getting ready to snuggle up. It was really amazing. The kitty that was actually walking on me has never don’t that before!

I too believe in karma and I know that whoever did this will have a bad time of it at some time in the future.

Wonderful! they find ways to let us know they are safe and happy I am sure…and yes Karma is not to be messed with!
Not something like what we have seen, that kind of act is pure evil to me.
