Reminds me of growing up in Wisconsin where Christmas Cookies and Cookie exchanges were a holiday tradition. I’m trying to bring that tradition to my new home in Ireland. I’m winning converts in co-workers and friends. Loved the pictures of the pounds of butter and the bacon (they have something more like Canadian bacon over here)! Thanks for bringing back lots of happy memories.
I started this tradition with my sisters after our mom died. Our grandmother and her sisters had this tradition of getting together to bake cookies for family and friends from back in the 1950’s onward. My father was in the Army and my sisters and I have the fondest memories of opening tins of their cookies on Christmas wherever we were in the world. I suspected that starting it for my generation of the family would bring my sisters and me closer to one another and it surely has! Besides the cookies are awesome!!!!!!!
We all took cookies back to family and friends….of course I was taking a big tin to work and dropped it on the sidewalk….I was devastated…I had to tell them they would get cookies next year!

I gained two pounds just looking at the photos!
That stringer of fish caught my eye – perfect wall decor for that kitchen.

I love the pictures of the cats–one waiting so patiently, the other a blur of activity. So made me laugh!
